What is Threads App?

The app allows users to share text updates and engage in public conversations and aims to create a positive and creative space for expression. Threads is planned to be compatible with open, interoperable social networks in the future. The app includes features for controlling conversations, such as filtering out specific words and blocking or restricting profiles. Safety and community guidelines are enforced, and the app will support ActivityPub protocol, enabling connections with other compatible apps. Threads is Meta's first app to be compatible with an open social networking protocol. 10 Difference Threads vs Twitter

There is 10 key difference between Twitter and Threads app so what are they let's find out.

Threads vs Twitter
Threads vs Twitter

1- Meta has confirmed that Threads will impose a 500-character limit for users, while unverified Twitter users can only use up to 280 characters. Moreover, verified Instagram accounts can retain their blue badge on Threads, whereas Twitter offers this feature for a monthly fee of $8, which also allows subscribers to expand their character limit to 25,000. Meta has not yet provided a similar option.

2- To use Threads, users must have an existing Instagram account. During profile creation, the app offers the option to import bio information and followers from an Instagram profile. This benefits Threads by granting access to Instagram's extensive userbase.

3- On Threads, users, including the unverified ones, can post videos lasting up to five minutes. On Twitter, users without the coveted blue badge can only post videos up to two minutes and 20 seconds in length.

4- Twitter's homepage provides users with trending topics and other topics of interest, whereas Threads only allows exploration by scrolling through the home feed.

5- Upon its launch, Threads did not offer the ability to save drafts of posts, unlike Twitter, which already has this feature.

6- The threading experience differs between Threads and Twitter. Screenshots circulating online show that on Threads, users have to press enter three times to start a thread, while on Twitter, it can be achieved by clicking on the plus button.

7- According to the screenshots, Threads does not offer the option to view the likes of other profiles, which Twitter provides as a separate tab.

8- Threads will follow the same content rules as Instagram and include similar controls for muting and blocking harassing accounts.

9- Connor Hayes, Meta's vice president of product, highlighted that one of the advantages of Threads is its utilization of the ActivityPub social-networking protocol, the same as Mastodon and other decentralized social-media apps. This means that Threads users will eventually be able to interact with a broader community beyond Instagram.

10- Threads has been launched without ads to generate as much excitement as possible, as reported by Bloomberg.
