What is Queen Consort

There are many titles in the aristocratic world. Queen consort is one of them as well. Let's talk about this term in more detail.

Defination

A queen consort is the wife of a reigning king, and usually shares her spouse's social rank and status. She holds the feminine equivalent of the king's monarchical titles and may be crowned and anointed, but historically she does not formally share the king's political and military powers, unless on occasion acting as regent.

Is There a Way To Change in Title

If there is a no child when a king dead that is lead to Quenn become reign but if Queen consort had a baby from deceased ruler than baby become ruler when the conditions are right and this lead to Queen consort to become dowager queen.

A dowager queen is a former queen consort whose husband has died. Dowager queens may also take the title of queen mother, referring to their role as mother of the monarch. Queen Elizabeth, consort of King George VI, was Queen Mother to Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth was the consort of King George VI. For the coronation in 1937 she had a crown created by Garrard & Co. Most of the diamonds were reused from a circlet made for Queen Victoria and reset for the coronation.

She also wore a purple velvet Robe of Estate at the coronation. It is embroidered in silk and gold thread with the national emblems of the United Kingdom as well as interlaced Es for Elizabeth.
