Is Flame Yellow? | 5 Different Colors of Flame

It sounds like impossible but there is many type of color of flame. When you think about flame always that first one you imagine is a yellow flame right? But it depends on material.

Like I said, it is not that simple and it is depend on what you are burning so let is see what kind of material creates what kind of colors and what is the meaning of this colors.


Orange

Orange is a combination of red and yellow. Red is filled with energy and stimulation, and yellow is responsible for the happiness and cheerfulness.

You can create a yellow flame by burning wood. Wood is an organic material with fibrous, heterogeneous and anisotropic texture produced from the tree, which is a living organism.


Green

The color of harmony and health. Green is a generous, relaxing color that revitalizes our body and mind. It balances our emotions and leaves us feeling safe and secure. It also gives us hope, with promises of growth and prosperity, and it provides a little bit of luck to help us along the way.

You can create green flame by burning acidic copper solution with methanol. Copper(II) sulfate, also known as copper sulphate, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula CuSO 4.


Blue

The color of trust and loyalty. Blue has a calming and relaxing effect on our psyche, that gives us peace and makes us feel confident and secure. It dislikes confrontation and too much attention, but it is an honest, reliable and responsible color and you can always count on its support.

You can create blue flame by burning boric acid with methanol. Boric acid, more specifically orthoboric acid, is a compound of boron, oxygen, and hydrogen with formula B(OH) 3.


Red

The color of passion and energy. Red draws attention like no other color and radiates a strong and powerful energy that motivates us to take action. It is also linked to sexuality and stimulates deep and intimate passion. Red is ubiquitously used to warn and signal caution and danger.

You can create red flame by burning lithium chloride with some methanol. Lithium chloride is a metal chloride salt with a Li(+) counterion. It has a role as an antimanic drug and a geroprotector.


Black and White

Black evokes sophistication; white communicates innocence. It's clear: black and white are opposites. It is represent harmony in our world.

You can create black and white flame by burning nitromethane with some methanol. Nitromethane, sometimes shortened to simply "nitro", is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH 3NO 2. It is the simplest organic nitro compound.
