During the National Assembly's session addressing the situation in Ukraine, a security cooperation agreement signed with Ukraine on February 16 was put to vote.
The agreement was approved with 372 "Yes" votes against 99 "No" votes.
Prior to the vote, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal stated, "Turning our back on Ukraine means turning our back on our values."
Attal pledged adequate assistance to Ukraine, highlighting France's provision of €2.6 billion worth of military equipment since the start of the Russia-Ukraine War.
Asserting Russia's threat not only to Ukraine but also to Europe and France, Attal emphasized the importance of Ukraine's success in the conflict for French interests.
He concluded, "We will not abandon Ukraine, and we are not ruling out any options as a matter of principle."
