1. The Friend Who Only Needs Something

When you are in need or support, this type of friend nowhere to be found. Only when they need something favors, loans or your time they appear on your sight. In a healthy friendship both parties should benefit and support each other. When relationship becomes one sided, one person always taking and never giving something back. It can lead to feeling of being used and felt worthless.

 

2. The Friend Who Gas-Lights You

Gaslighting is a type of psychological manipulation that a person makes you question about your reality, your memory or perceptions. A friend who gaslights might be deny things they said or did mostly they dismiss your feelings. This behavior can be very harmful abd cause you to doubt yourself and erode your confidence. It is important to trust your own experiences, feelings and maintain boundaries with anyone who consistently undermines them.

 

3. The Friend Who Never Reaches Out to You

This type of relationship, you might feel like you are the only one invested in maintaining the friendship. You are always the one reaching out making plans and keep in touch with your friend. The other person is seems indifferent or uninterested to you. A balanced friendship involves effort from both sides. If you find yourself in a situation where you are the only one effort, it may be time to evaluate whether this relationship is beneficial or useless.

 

4. The Friend Who Only Talks About Themselves

Talking with this type of friend is typically one sided. They are mainly focus on their life, problems and achievements. They may show a little interest in your life or your feelings but they might consistently redirect conversations back to themselves. This can be draining and leave you feeling unsupported and overlooked. A healthy friendship should include mutual interest, empathy, and space for both individuals to share and receive support in their life for both parties.


 

5. The Friend Who Only Talks Down on You

This type of friend always make negative comments always critize you or undervalue your things in the guise of jokes or being realistic. Such behavior can be damaging to your self esteem and overall well being. True friends should build each other up and offer constructive feedback when necessary, not consistently make you feel inferior or not valued. Recognizing and distancing yourself from these type of friendships that are consistently negative or demeaning is crucial for your mental and emotional health.
